Dangers of Radiation from Cell Phones for Seniors

Cell phones are very useful gadgets that have become part of modern human life. However, these mobile devices might also cause harm since they emit electromagnetic radiation that may have negative effects to the human body. Are radiation from mobile phones for seniors causing harm to elderly users?

Well, the debate on the dangerous effects of mobile phones is still raging. Some research indicate that cell phone radiation can cause insomnia, exacerbate irritability and cause concentration and memory issues. However, there is no definitive proof that using mobile phones can cause cancer and other life-threatening effects.

So what should concerned seniors do about the possible dangers of radiation from mobile phones? Well, the government ensures that cell phones pass a safe standard for radiation. Specific absorption rate (SAR) is a measurement of the rate at which energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to a radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field. The FCC requires that phones sold have a SAR level at or below 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg) .

Seniors may also choose a device that has a low radiation emission or reduce the length of phone calls to six minutes or less. Some studies also show that the further the phone is, the lower the radiation impact so the using phone at least 20 to 30 centimeters from the body lessens exposure to radiation.

Using accessories such as headsets may also allow users to minimize the damage of radiation from cell phones for senior citizens. Headsets emit radiation but at a lower level than mobile phones.

That's it for this post on the dangers of radiation from cell phones for senior citizens. Standby for more news, updates and information on senior-friendly mobile phones and services.
