Doro PhoneEasy 615 Cell phone for Seniors Hands-on

Doro introduced new cell phones for senior citizens at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month. The PhoneEasy 615, the PhoneEasy 610, the PhoneEasy 680, and the PhoneEasy 682 were showcased at the show.

Fortunately, the folks at Phonescoop shared some of their hand-on images and impressions on the Doro PhoneEasy 615. This mobile phone for seniors features 3G support, a camera, an SOS key on the back, and a very large color display.

Doro Introduces Senior-friendly Cell Phones at MWC 2011

Doro, a known maker of cell phones for seniors, has made its presence felt at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This mobile phone manufacturer has introduced mobile phones that can be used by senior citizens at the event.

The PhoneEasy 615, the PhoneEasy 610, the PhoneEasy 680, and the PhoneEasy 682 are expected to hit the market this year. These new senior-friendly mobile provide features that are helpful to elderly users including loud ringers and earpieces, large display fonts, high contrast displays, dedicated quick dial keys, hearing aid support and large buttons

Let's look at the details for these mobile phones for senior citizens.

The Doro PhoneEasy 615 appears to have the most features among the new handsets. It offers 3G support and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It will be available in June/July.

The Doro PhoneEasy 610 features a with a direct key for text messages and many other improvements. This cell phone for seniors will be available in June/July.

The the PhoneEasy 680, and the PhoneEasy 682 offer noise reduction and an alarm key that is linked to GPS positioning for better emergency response support. Both of these senior mobile phones will hit the market in n September 2011.

Unfortunately, the US carriers for these handset were not revealed. However, they are GSM cell phones so they are compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T when they land in the US market.

Price Cut for Consumer Cellular Senior-Friendly Cell Phone

Here's a nice update for seniors who are looking for cheap mobile phones. Consumer Cellular has cut the price of one of its cell phones for seniors.

Consumer Cellular launched the Doro PhoneEasy 410 with the Doro PhoneEasy 335 on October of last year. At the time the PhoneEasy 410 was priced at $40. Well, the MNVO is now selling this simple mobile phone for the elderly for a more affordable price of $25.

John Marick, Consumer Cellular CEO comments on this price cut:

Consumer Cellular Releases New Doro Cellphones for Seniors

I've dedicated a page to Consumer Cellular and its vision for providing phones and services for senior citizens. Well, it appears that the company has increased its excellent lineup of cell phones for seniors.

Consumer Cellular has introduced new mobile phones for the elderly to the market. These new handsets are made by Swedish company Doro.

Let's take a closer look at these new cellphones for seniors.

Doro PhoneEasy 410: A simple cell phone that features a clamshell design with large buttons, strong vibrating alerts, loud ringers, Bluetooth and support for hearing aids. This mobile phone for seniors is available in either black or white for $50.

Doro PhoneEasy 335: An easy-to-use bar-style phone that also offers large buttons, strong vibrating alerts, loud ringers, Bluetooth and support for hearing aids. Consumers can get this handset for the elderly for $40.

To get these excellent devices, a consumer needs to a $35 activation fee and subscribe to plans that cost $20 per month for 250 minutes.

What are the other benefits for these new cell phone for seniors? Well let me enumerate or highlight the perks:
  • Two-way speakerphone
  • Phonebook with up to 300 entries
  • SMS text messaging
