The ZTE S302 Cell Phone for Seniors

ZTE, a chinese mobile phone manufacturer, is slowly making its presence felt in the US market. The company has released a several phones in the US including one that might be released on Verizon. This manufacturer has also taken a stab at the seniors market with the ZTE S302.

The ZTE S302 is designed to cater to the needs of senior citizens. I think this is another version of the iNO CP09, a simple phone for kids and seniors. However, this version has been released for the US market and has already earned a certification in the American Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

This senior-friendly mobile phone sports a monoblock design with unusually large keys for users with poor eyesight.

This device also features a separate key SOS, designed to automatically dial emergency in three pre-defined numbers. It's a handy feature for seniors who need immediate care and attention.

Here's a list of the features of the ZTE S302:
  • GSM 900/1800 or 850/1900 MHz
  • Dimensions: 103h49h14, 8 mm
  • Weight: 79 gr.
  • Display: 1.6-inch, resolution 128h48 pixels, Monochrome
  • memory for 100 contacts SMS/100
  • Sound: 16-tone polyphony
  • Battery: Li-Ion, 1000 mA / h
  • Built in flashlight
  • FM-radio receiver with a built-in antenna
  • a separate key SOS, designed to automatically dial emergency in three pre-defined numbers.
That's it for this quick look on another handset for the elderly. Check this site often for more of the latest news, services and mobile phones for seniors.
