The New Emporia Elegance Cell Phone for Senior Citizens

The Mobile World Congress was recently held in Barcelona. Like CES, this event is a key venue to introduce new mobile phones and wireless technology. Luckily for elderly consumers, a couple of new senior-friendly mobile phones were introduced at the show. These new cell phones for grandparents were introduced by Emporia the same folks that delivered the Lifephone.

The company introduced the Elegance and Solid cell phones fr seniors. Let's take a closer look at the Emporia Elegance for now. We'll feature the Emporia Solid later this week.

Now since, this is a new device the information is a bit limited. However, there is enough info to keep one excited about this upcoming mobile phone for seniors

The Emporia Elegance is a cell phone for seniors that emphasizes style. The company's website describes it as "Simple telephony with style." Well, simple is good for senior users.

This handset comes with features that are friendly towards elderly users. The Emporia Elegance features a 1.8-inch OLED high contrast display with large and easy to read fonts, huge keys, and a slim feature set. Other senior-friendly features include an extra loud ringer, hearing aid compatibility, and 900/1800 GSM radios.

The Emporia Elegance will retail for €129 (roughly $175) and will hit the shops round spring 2010 onwards.
