Easy to Use Cell Phones for the Elderly

Simplicity is one of the best characteristics of an ideal cell phone for seniors. Senior citizens do not demand a lot from a handset. Most senior users want a simple phone that can allow them to make calls or send messages without going through a lot of steps.

We live in a modern age but there are still plenty of easy to use cell phones for the elderly that are for sale in the market. Service providers have recognized that the senior market is growing and is a good source for business.

Let's look at some of the easy to use cell phones for the elderly that are offered by major manufacturers. Some of these phones have been featured on my blog and the rest are devices that I hope to cover in the future.

Easy to Use Cell Phones for the Elderly:

Jitterbug phones: This handsets are probably the most popular brand of cellphones for seniors. There are currently three models from this provider. This MNVO recently signed a deal with Verizon Wireless bringing more exposure to these excellent devices.

Nokia Phones: This company also offers an excellent line of easy to use cell phones for the elderly. Some of the Nokia handsets i feature in this blog include the 6085, 2366i, and 6133. I'm going to post about more handsets from this maker in the near future.

Sanyo cell phones: This company may not be among the top handset makers in the world but they sure do know how to make mobile phones that are suitable for grandparents. I've featured the Sanyo SCP 7050 and SCP 7000 in this site.

Motorola Handsets: Devices from this maker that I've included in this site include the Motorola MOTOFONE F3, i335, i760, ic502 Buzz, and V195s. This company has recently slid down but is known for its simple and stylish products.

Samsung Mobile Phones: I've only featured two phones form this manufacturer but you can expect me to blog about other Samsung phones that may be ideal for baby boomers. Read about the Samsung Knack and M240 in my earlier posts.

That's it for this post on easy to use cell phones for the elderly. Remember that simplicity is a key attribute of handsets for senior citizens.

I just got my mom (85) a pay as you go cell phone. Since she hardly ever uses her cell phone, I thought it was ridiculous to spend $60/month on a phone and minutes she never uses. I got smart and did some research and came across a phone where all I spend is less than $10 a month. The phone is from Net10 and it's only 10 cents/minute. She only uses the phone for emergencies, so it's a perfect phone. I can't remember the model of the phone, but it has big buttons, a big screen and is simple for her to use. Definitely recommend pay as you go or prepaid for the elderly.
